Andrea Grace Portrait

My approach to sleep problems is designed for those loving parents who want their children to sleep well but cannot bear to leave them alone to cry. Conventional sleep training is often extremely harsh, and goes against the very nature of our instinct to love, cherish and nurture.

Often, parents come to me after they have tried and failed to resolve their child's sleep problem by following one of the "controlled crying" techniques. I believe that sleep training doesn't have to be so traumatic and that children need to feel secure, safe and happy in order to sleep well.

Parents are often visibly relieved when I tell them that in order to overcome their sleep problems, they do not have to leave their baby alone to cry. Once they follow their individual sleep plan, they are invariably delighted at their success. Many regret that they didn't try sleep training earlier.

I offer personal and tailor made approaches to babies’ and children’s sleep problems, which address the specific reasons for each individual’s sleeplessness. Although the solutions are gentle, they are highly effective and safe even for children who have health problems or learning differences. My methods are endorsed by the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSID)

I am able to provide a truly personal service. My methods draw on my many years of experience working as a children's sleep specialist, a health visitor and perhaps most important of all, a mother of four growing children.
